Sawyer Garth is a rising fiction writer who lives recklessly, trying to get her father's attention. Her mother died during childbirth, so when Sawyer discovers that she is pregnant, she is hell-bent on having a last hurrah. She sets out from Birmingham, Alabama, to join her aunt on a cross-country motorcycle trek to benefit breast cancer. En route to Seattle, she is forced to stop in Montana because of inclement weather. Taking shelter at the local diner, she meets a local resident, Jon Tyler Holling. He and his father, Nate, are wealthy ranchers who also own a bed-and-breakfast establishment. Holling is smitten with Sawyer the moment he lays eyes on her. When the storm destroys the diner, harms Jon, and mutilates her bike, Sawyer is stranded. Until her bike can be repaired, Sawyer is humbled by the kindness and generosity of Jon and his father. Although they are hopelessly drawn to each other, Sawyer fights her feelings, while Jon struggles with a plan to make her want to stay. Guillaume is a compelling storyteller. Lillian Lewis
